Merry Christmas to all! Here’s a brief synopsis of our family in 2025:
Andrew is acing his classes at Arizona State University. He’s working on his Chemistry degree virtually while living here in Michigan. He’s making good progress working through his medical issues at the same time. He’s a great mentor and source of good humor and fun to his brothers and parents.
Chandler and Rachel are now amazing parents of three! We got our second granddaughter, Emma Michelle on September 21. James and Livvy are wonderful older siblings, so gentle and loving to her. Chandler continues to do amazing things at StageRight, including programming responsibilities and implementing AI in their processes. Rachel is an amazing mother and is handling having three little ones like a pro! We continue to love having them live in our ward, and just five minutes away!
Jordan is now cutting, coloring and styling hair like a pro at a new salon, Celestial Creations. He enjoyed his time at Great Clips, but this new place will give him a greater range of experience, and he’s loving it and rocking it! He’s living with Donovan again and they both love to surprise the younger brothers with fun golfing and dining outings. We are so appreciative of the love they show everyone around them.
Seth is now married! He married Anne Griffiths in the Philadelphia PA temple on August 8 of this year. We had a celebration in late July in our backyard (with a miraculous answer to prayers as the rain parted just in time!) and enjoyed a family trip to Maryland to celebrate with her family after attending the temple ceremony in Pennsylvania. We stopped by New York to see Greg’s brother Gary’s family and briefly visit New York City. We are thrilled to have Anne in our family! She is a beautiful singer and we’ve loved sharing musical experiences together with her. They are both continuing to pursue their degrees at BYU-Idaho (Computer Science and Horticulture).
Michael is in the Phoenix Arizona mission and serving faithfully and diligently. We enjoy our weekly video calls with him. He recently transferred to the Osborne Ward where he’s “trainer breaking” his companion there. Shortly after Elder Boss arrived to his mission, at the first Zone conference he attended, a member of the mission presidency approached him, put his hand on his shoulder, and said "Elder Boss,” staring him down. He was doing his best to remember if he knew this guy, was getting a little nervous, and then President Hinton told him that he was his dad's trainer out on the mission in Kentucky! He heard Elder Boss was coming to the mission and was looking out for him.
Bentley is at Heritage High school this year and rocking his Sophomore year! He’s taking four AP classes and still getting all A’s. He played for the JV tennis team and had an impressive record of wins for his first year playing competitively. He continues to play the cello and did great transitioning into the Philharmonic Orchestra at the high school. He continues to get himself up every morning to get to seminary by 5:50 and only takes an after school nap sometimes. He’s a great driver (still in training) and this is reflected by the fact that Mom actually enjoys letting him drive, rather than it being an anxiety-inducing experience.
Clayton is in his first year of middle school and is also rocking it! He has all A’s and is taking on the personal responsibility of getting assignments done and studying for tests, all on his own. This is saying a lot with how many times he’s been ill this year - three bouts of some kind of flu. But after missing several days of school he gets caught back up no problem. Clayton is learning the cello this year and picking it up remarkably well! He had a rough year last year - he broke his right arm on August 1, 2024, and then broke his left arm 6 months to the day on February 1, 2025. We were blessed that he didn’t need surgery on the second arm. Clayton has shown great resilience coming back from his broken arms. After getting clearance from the doctor, he got back up on his bike this summer (the source of the first break). Clayton continues to be a natural babysitter to his nephew, niece and all the little ones that he comes in contact with. He will be a fantastic father some day!
Joseph loves second grade at Hemmeter! He is turning into a great reader and is a natural in math. He’s learning chess just like his brothers. Unlike his brothers, he loves to do cartwheels and handstands, just about everywhere he is. Mom is pretty sure he did more cartwheels than ball touches when he played soccer this fall. Joseph has a naturally kind heart and sets a good example for all of us. He’s often coming up with extra ways to reach out to others “with love and kindness.”
We are so happy to report that Greg is employed again! We are so grateful to the Lord for seeing us through this trial of unemployment for nearly a year and a half. We were truly blessed and saw many small and great miracles. He is working as a senior technology consultant for CoverMyMeds, a healthcare tech company owned by McKesson. He is collaborating directly with the CTO to develop the core strategy. This involves creating the main blueprint for integrating new technology and properly untangling the existing, older computer systems. Greg continues to serve at church as second counselor in the Stake Presidency.
Sherie continues to teach a few music (cello and piano students) and loves her main role as stay at home mom. She was called as Relief Society President in the spring of this year, and has found the calling to be a great learning experience and blessing. Our family enjoyed travels for Seth’s wedding, and a labor day week of camping at Ludington on the west side of Michigan, probably our favorite camping spot yet! Greg and Sherie were also able to enjoy a cruise with friends, a much needed get away! We send our love and greetings to each of you during this beautiful season celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
With love, Greg, Sherie, Andrew, Chandler (&Rachel), Jordan (&Donny), Seth (&Anne), Elder Boss (Michael), Bentley, Clayton, and Joseph
